NetLibrary Shared Collection 8: Now Open

Now through June 25, 2008, Nylink, in partnership with OCLC NetLibrary, is offering Nylink Shared Collection 8. This new collection contains front list titles from the most widely used subject areas and all titles have never appeared in previous Nylink Shared Collections

The pool of 375 possible titles ($34,000 in content) have been carefully selected by NetLibrary collection development librarians to develop a current set of content geared primarily to academic undergraduate programs.

Top subjects include: Business, Economics and Management, Social Sciences: General, Computer Science, Medicine, Law, Education, Literature, Psychology, Library Science, Arts, History, Reference, and Religion.

Pricing is a flat fee, based on FTE.

This offer ends on June 25, 2008. Current pricing includes the one-time Ongoing Prepaid Access Fee that will provide access to this collection for a minimum of five years, and it is a one-time purchase.

Eligibility

The initial offering of Nylink Shared Collection 8 will be limited to the first 15 libraries that commit to participate; any type of library can join. In keeping with changes to NetLibrary’s agreements with publishers regarding consortial (shared) collections for 2006-2009, 2 simultaneous accesses to each book will be included. In addition, libraries that choose to participate in this shared collection will automatically have their simultaneous accesses to unique content that they may have purchased or will purchase in the future from NetLibrary increased by one user.

The pool of 375 titles is the maximum possible size of the collection. The final size of the collection will be determined by level of participation and may include fewer titles.

Cataloging Records

OCLC MARC records and setting of holdings in WorldCat for NetLibrary’s eBooks are included with this collection at no additional charge.

Around the Clock Access

Patrons can search across all eBooks in the Shared Collection, or conduct their search within a particular eBook, with round-the-clock access.

American Heritage® Dictionary

All NetLibrary eBooks are also embedded with The American Heritage® Dictionary, which allows patrons to highlight a word and view its definition while online

A Nylink/NetLibrary member agreement will be sent for your review and signature upon receipt of the order form, if your library does not have a current eBook agreement with NetLibrary.
