Your Nylink advantage: NetLibrary eBooks Subject Sets are a great way to start building a new eBook collection or to help grow your existing ones.

NetLibrary eBooks

NetLibrary® ebooks offer over 200,000 eBook titles, with more eBooks being added every day. eBooks can be purchased title by title, in pre-selected sets covering many subject areas, by joining a Shared Collection, or you can create your own custom collections to fit your needs. NetLibrary currently offers more than 146,000 PDF titles that are compatible with the nook from Barnes & Noble, Sony Daily Edition™ and other devices, including Sony Digital Readers (PRS-300, 505, 600 and 700BC), as well as the COOL-ER. OCLC NetLibrary utilizes the Adobe Content Server (ACS) to provide offline eReader capability to library users.

NetLibrary offers several purchase options for eBooks.

  • TitleSelect: Allows you to hand pick eBooks from an online list of NetLibrary offerings. TitleSelect allows you to search and sort by subject, audience, language, title, and other areas. There are also suggested collections based on subjects such as nursing, Middle Eastern studies, and criminal justice. Visit TitleSelect at http://extranet.netlibrary.com/titleselect/login.asp.
  • Subject Sets are collections of eBooks, selected by experienced NetLibrary collection development librarians, in specific subject areas. Subject Sets are available for all types of libraries. They have one-time purchase fees that include both the content cost and access fees. Just announced are 28 all-new eBook sets for 2010 with topics covering personal finance, architecture, travel, information technology, music, language learning and much more. http://www.oclc.org/ebooks/subjectsets/default.htm
  • Shared Collections provide an opportunity for libraries to share in the cost of and access to large collections of eBooks for a far lower cost than if they purchased the same collection as an individual library. The 2009-2010 OCLC Shared Collections are now open, with collections geared to academic and community college needs, as well as a ready reference collection, but any type of library is eligible to take advantage of this offer.
