Aeon

Aeon is special collections circulation and request management software designed by special collections librarians. Aeon is made up of a staff client, a web interface for patrons, a web interface for reporting, and other server-based services that support the system and provide regular maintenance.

By enabling users of special collections to place item requests directly from a library's online catalog and finding aids, and to monitor them in a personalized web-based account, Aeon improves user service. The Aeon staff client permits library staff to manage every step of every transaction, from shelf to user and back again, with full control and ease, maximizing staff efficiency while providing unparalleled item tracking, security and statistics. Aeon offers a circulation management system that enables special collections libraries and archives to provide better customer service in a more secure and controlled environment. By eliminating many of the manual steps in non-automated systems, Aeon allows special collections librarians to improve both the depth and quality of services they provide patrons, without the need for additional staff.
